Heather Garcia | Accounting Specialist

Heather and hubby, Mark, recently escaped Phoenix to enjoy their 2nd annual summer trip to Temecula, CA. They stayed at one of the wineries (below photo of their view overlooking the vineyards). They enjoyed a very successful trip of breathtaking views, relaxing, and of course, sampling wine!

Frederick Ouellette | Director of Construction

Congratulations to Frederick and Christine’s son, Brady Jaco, on his graduation from the Marine Corps basic training. Brady has completed MCT (Marine Combat Training) at Camp Geiger, NC, and received orders to report for his career training in Monterey, CA. He was recruited for Cyber Security based on above average ASVAB (Armed Service Vocational Aptitude Battery) test scores. He took additional testing in basic to qualify for Cryptological Linguist and passed.  The military school in Monterey is the Defense Language School where he will learn one or more languages for combat and noncombat roles as an interpreter.

“We are super proud of him and excited to learn what languages he will be learning.”

Jayme Cole | General Superintendent

Son Jake was in town for the summer. They went indoor rock climbing, shooting, and fishing, as well as lots of family meals, UNO and 5 Crowns card games. Jake got to see our Andretti job and was able to visit with some of the office staff as well.

“Can’t wait to get him out here again.”

Remember the bunny rescued a few months ago by Erin and Chris Fleegle. Well, Jayme and his family have given the bunny a good home and a very appropriate name, Crawford (lol). Crawford is doing very well. He eats like a horse and knows when its feeding time. He will stand up on hind legs as I approach.

Bobby Bandara | Account Executive

Mission trip to Romania. Bobby and 6 other Americans went to Brasov, Romania, to help students and adults with English. For the 9 days they were there, Bobby had the privilege of teaching English to 3 adults and many teenagers. The Romanian teenagers said they learn most of their English from Tic-Tok and YouTube.

When they first met the group, Bobby asked what they thought of when they thought of the USA. “Everyone has a huge house,” was the reply. The 2nd thing was they think “In-& Out Burger and Canes are the best restaurants in the USA.” They discussed many English phrases they didn’t understand like, “I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt,” “I digress,” and “that is sick,” etc.

Being a history buff, my enjoyment was to be in a former communist country and to listen to the older Romanians talk to me about living under the communist party and what it was like.

Overall, Romania was very green and beautiful, and the people were very thankful that Americans would come over to help them understand English better.
