VDC/BIM Designer (Sheetmetal)
Crawford Mechanical Services is an Arizona based (est. 2002) large-scale commercial and industrial Mechanical & Plumbing contractor looking for a VDC/BIM Designer (Sheetmetal). Sheetmetal and HVAC design experience is a must. Construction experience is preferred and 2-4 years of of BIM/VDC experience working on commercial construction projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create working shop drawings of complex HVAC ductwork systems using advanced detailing techniques from engineered documents.
- Coordinate shop drawings with other trades to support shop fabrication and field installation.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Construction Superintendents, Suppliers, design team, owner, and field install crews, and shop fabricators.
- Facilitate problem solving using technology and collaboration with project teams, both internal and external.
- Coordinate your workload for one or more projects with VDC Manager.
- Use modeling best practices and company standards to produce accurate shop drawings.
- Conduct quality reviews of modeled scope from others and confirm compliance with the contract documents.
- Apply concepts from training sessions and lessons learned to facilitate project coordination.
- Understand and implement VDC services in accordance with our standards and best practices.
- Understand, and contribute as applicable to, VDC goals and company initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Field experience installing HVAC ductwork systems preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of system constructability and proper means and methods for all applicable ductwork systems.
- Technical knowledge and experience with AutoCAD.
- 2-4 years of of BIM/VDC experience working on commercial construction projects
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment as well as independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and others as applicable
- Understand contract documents, drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Understanding of the basics of the construction management process (RFIs, Submittals, Shop Drawings).
- Successful candidates will also possess outstanding communication and time management skills, willingness to relocate, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
