“In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks. Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul. Keep close to Nature’s heart… and break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean.” ~ John Muir

HIKING:

Ivan Adams suggested the Hackberry Springs Loop (3.7mi) in the Superstition Wilderness for a weekend day hike in January. We don’t have a date nailed down yet but email Elicia if you’re interested in joining elicia.d@cmsaz.com

Trail Info: Hackberry Springs Loop

Description: This is a 3.7-mile loop trail near Tortilla Flat, Arizona. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 36 min to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking and running, so you’ll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are October through April. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash. Depending on the season, there may be water in the creek, which is a beautiful sight in the arid desert surroundings.
